Reflection
Shadow
Reflection :
The place where I took these pictures was at my house. I took these pictures with my phone so I was not able to control the settings such as ISO, white balance, shutter speed, etc. If i were on a school camera, then the settings I might have used would be an ISO of incadescent. This photo is a photograph of a candle that was in my house. In this photo, the flame is being reflected off the glass of the candle. Both the object and the reflection are being shown in this image. I took this image at an angle that wasn’t directly above the object but it wasn’t directly in front of the object. Personally, I think that this image is visually interesting because of how it is in black and white and how the flame and its reflection stands out against the darker colors of the candle. The mood that this photo gives off is cozy and relaxing.
Shadow:
I chose to take these photos during the day so that I could get a nice shadow. These photos were also taken inside so the light source was provided by lights in my house. The photos that I took were of decorations in my house that made interesting shadows due to the light. For example, in the first shadow image of the angel and the candle, the objects follow the rule of thirds and are off to the side while the shadows are right in the middle. Due to the objects that were creating a shadow, the shadow created a nice shape outlining the angel and the candle. This photo also creates a sense of mystery due to the objects and how different they are.
